We recommend that you consult the airline directory to check their latest formats
Kabuto suitcase uses a 32 watts Lithium-ion removable battery, which is well within the FAA limit of 100 watts on Li-ion batteries.
As body scans, medal detectors and random bag checks are part of a standard security practice in airports, you may be asked to open your suitcase. All you need to do is to show the removable battery.
The battery in the Kabuto® suitcase is removable and has to be removed to check-in in order to comply with the latest airlines regulations.
Find all the standards in force on the official website of IATA( International Air Transport Association).
Our smart luggages are equipped with an USB-C plug. As a general rule USB C power supply is implement on the high laptops and Ultra-Portable. However, some manufacturers of laptops seem reluctant to implement this new standard.
Here is a non-exhaustive review of the major brands
• APPLE all models are fitted with USB C power supply.
• ACER All Ultra-portable, except OPP. 15” computers and high performance laptop still use a traditional coaxial power supply
• HP All Ultra-portable. 15” computers and high performance laptop still use a traditional coaxial power supply
• CHROMEBOOK All models are fitted with USB C power supply
• DELL All Latitude and XPS. All models with USB C power supply
• ASUS none are USB-C compatible
• LENOVO none are USB-C compatible
• Inspiron and Vostro only some models are compatible with USB-C
For other brands, please refer to your laptop notice to check if it's USB-C powerable.
Security officers have a master key to open your luggage in case of necessity: let TSA know they hold a master key and point out the logo on the TSA approved smart-lock.
Your Kabuto® has been designed in accordance to civil aviation regulation FAA. The electronic lock is normally dormant and turns on as you approach a finger to save battery life. You can safely open your luggage during a flight, as long as the signal "fasten your seatbelt" is not lit.
Kabuto lifetime warranty covers the following:
• the telescopic handle,
• the top carry handle containing electronics (fingerprint lock opening system),
• USB plugs,
• TSA approved lock,
• the wheels (tires may be replaced),
• the zippers.
• The battery warranty is 18 monthsPlease refer to our Terms and conditions for more details
The Kabuto® Lite is exactly the same expandable format as the Kabuto®, it does not have a battery or fingerprint opening system. A dedicated pocket inside allows you to place your own external battery, you can connect your battery to the cable that feeds the plug near the lock.
According to a report issued by SITA, the percentage of luggage mishandled by airlines averaged 8 pieces per 1,000 passengers (if you are travelling by air). Furthermore more that 75% got back to their owner without any damage, only 3% of these mishandled luggage are ultimately reported lost or stolen…that means only 0,24 piece per 1000 passenger would need GPS to locate their luggage (not to mention that GPS is quite expansive and has its own limitations).
Kabuto® is also a carry-on, that means mainly that you have it with you in the overhead compartment most of the time...
For these reasons, we do not think that GPS baggage tracking is practical at this moment in time.

• Press the button next to the sensor and hold it down for 2 seconds. The LED will lit yellow quickly,
• Place one finger on the sensor for scanning. The LED lits up blue then green when the scan is completed,
• Remove the finger, the LED flashes again.
• You have to scan the same finger 4 times in succession to record a full fingerprint, until the LED changes to solid blue.
Your fingerprint is saved and will be the only one that can open the bag, it is the master fingerprint that allows to register any additional fingerprint.
